Taz has a second outpost in the Financial District, on Pine Street (very close to the Wall St. 2/3 stop). The same concept as the Maiden Lane location: deli type food - sandwiches, pizza, salad, etc. for lunch.
Cheapskates of Wall Street rejoice! One of the best deals in the Financial District: $7 for a salad with 6 toppings + 1 meat. There have been times, when the super-nice salad guy, has given me an extra topping because I don't take the meat option.
The layout of the deli (narrow and extending pretty far back) can create traffic jams, especially if you're trying to pay and grab some plastic forks on the way out.
I've noticed that the service here is a lot nicer than the Maiden Lane location.
nothing to write home bout but not bad either... pretty good size amount of fresh pastrami carved in front of u ... on rye bread that i wish was toasted... with provolone cheese and really really sour sauerkraut... they do not have macaroni salad as the menu suggested they did... thats what i was really craving =P
bad thing is its 7.50 for a homemade size sandwich but with pastrami...
I really like their salad bar. Very tasty and healthy. I have their salad at least one or two times a week to detoxify my body. The fact that the portion is rather large even for a regular one, salad is actually a very filling meal too. I've tried a couple other salad places in the area(downtown financial district). This is my favorite.
omg. taz is just genius. i used to walk from 60 wall where i worked all the way to them because i was addicted to the hot cheesy entrees. then god just throws me a solid and they open up a new one on pine street!!!! now rain or snow or sleet i can go to taz to eat lol
Are you guys ready for the sole reason why every single one of you should go?
i have always had problems with paninis from all places because they are just never executed well at any place. the bread would burn up from the bottom and be cold in the middle. taz has added a turbo chef oven!!!! the same big oven tthey got at subways to toast your sandiwches/paninis. when the reuben comes out and all the cheese just melted away it is hypnotic!!!! i actually have seen people look at food come out of the oven and then just exclaim I WANT THE SAME THING!!!!. for perfectly toasted sanwiches paninis and wraps and i mean breakfast or lunch items. you gotta try the turbo chef people!!! they even added one on at the 84 william place too. i love you taz
Great place for lunch because of the large selections and the price is reasonable.
So far I have not found any problems like the other Yelpers concerning the other TAZ Cafe.
This location is the same owner as the TAZ Cafe on 84 Williams St. It is the same menu.
My favorites- Panini; Milao & Tri-cheese Capri.
